Latest Tournament Achievements

Saturday 11th May heralded the Matamata Junior Tournament leg of the Waikato Bays Junior League. Te Awamutu was well represented with three pairs: Mike Joyes/Anthea Mackintosh; Christine Mills/Pauline Van Groenedaal and Alison Muggeridge/Lorraine Blignaut. Also competing were Kevin Barnes and Vicki Petherick who regularly play at our club but represent the Waikato Club. Vicki and Kevin went well in the morning session coming first and Christine and Pauline shone in the afternoon session and also came first. However, this was insufficient to feature in the overall prizes but well done to you all. After 3 legs of the Junior League Alison and Lorraine are 3rd and 4th and Anthea and Pauline are 5th and 6th. Its looking good for honours later in the year. Next stop for the Junior players is the Mt Maunganui Leg in July.
