Welcome to 2024 Bridge

This week we have started back to playing club sessions with a scramble for each of the sessions this week. We look forward to seeing your smiling faces at the club for a fantastic program of playing, developing and learning bridge. Not to mention the lovely socialising we all enjoy immensely.

Monday Night end of year

On Monday 4th December we had our last evening of Monday bridge and had a bit of a celebratory snack (bring a plate meant there was plenty of food). Some small prizes were distributed to worthy recipients (I.e. all the novices present). We look forward to kicking off Monday nights on 15th Jan. All are welcome.

BBO Tournaments Information

Details of the tournaments that are being hosted by various Waikato club members can be found on the Waikato Bays region's website https://www.waikatobays.bridge-club.org/.  The results are published there too in our usual format that is more user friendly than the BBO results table.

On our website I have added a link to the very useful BBO guide written by Karen Martelleti that is also on the Waikato Bays site.  You will find the link under the "About Us" menu item

National Newspaper Coverage for Bridge

There have been two articles in national newspapers lately encouraging people to take up bridge.

This one first appeared in the Taupo times and was republished in the NZ Herald.  Follow this link the article.  Taupo Bridge Club Lessons

The second article in the Taranaki Daily News features a High School student encouraging her peers to learn bridge
